Synopsis:
Jimmy Took’s only relative is Uncle Dan who is very wealthy and very generous. Somehow Uncle Dan gets the impression that Jimmy is married. Just as Jimmy finds himself in a position where he needs to borrow money, he receives a letter stating that Uncle Dan will be arriving soon to meet the bride. Afraid that his uncle will think he deliberately lied to him, Jimmy frantically tries to talk his girlfriend, Madge, into posing as his wife for a few hours. Madge refuses, so Jimmy attempts to hire Mr. Oswald, a humorous near-sighted fellow, to pose as a woman! Mr. Oswald also refuses—leaving only Jimmy’s roommate, Bill. Against his better judgment, Bill gets dressed up as a girl! Things liven up when Mr. Oswald changes his mind and arrives as “Mrs. Took,” and Madge also changes her mind and breezes in announcing she too is Jimmy’s wife! Jimmy rushes around trying to keep Uncle Dan from meeting his various fiancees as laugh tops laugh and Jimmy realizes his idea wasn’t so bright after all.
