King is the author of poetry, children’s picture books, children’s novellas,
novels and some prize winning short plays. His political drama S.P.A.C.
won the Alhambra Theater award and was produced in Jacksonville, Florida. His
one-acts Our Appointed Rounds and A Mother In My Head were
finalists with the Mark Twain Masquers One Act Festival in West Hartford, CT. A
Mother In My Head also won best one-act in the Marblehead Little Theater
One Act Festival (MA), a production by the Sherborn Players (MA), and
commendation from the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters,
and Audience Choice in the 2007 Playwrights Platform Summer Festival. Mr.
King’s interactive comedy Wendy and Wendell’s Wonderful Wacky WASP Wedding
was also staged by the Sherborn Players. His Comfort Measures was part
of the 2005 Playwrights Platform Summer Festival and the Seven Ages festival at
The Center for the Arts in Natick, and was chosen for the 2007 Boston Theater
Marathon. A Ticklish Situation was in the 2006 Boston Theatre Marathon
and the Chester Horn Festival in New York. Dark Retreat was in the 2006
Playwrights Platform Summer Festival. A Moving Day received a
Massacusetts Cultural Council grant to be read as part of the Life Stages
program in Sherborn, MA. Short Cuts was in the 2008 Boston Theater
Marathon and the 2008 Playwrights Platform Summer Festival. | |
