 | Russell Jones |
| | Russell D. Jones is a new author on the playwriting scene. His first publication is the hilarious murder mystery farce, Red Herring. Russell's interest in theatre began in 1998 and 1999 during his senior year of high school. That year, he did his first theatrical performances and wrote his first short fictional story. In college, he wandered from major to major, finally settling on a dual major in English and Theatre. After graduating, Russell began working at a theatre in downtown Reno, Nevada called The Magic Underground. This was a theatre of illusion run by the world famous magicians Kalin and Jinger. There Russell bartended, performing fantastic illusions onstage and close-up magic behind the bar. In November 2008, The Magic Underground closed, though Russell still maintains contact with Kalin and Jinger and does corporate contracts with them. Throughout his educational and professional theatre career, Russell has found a love for playwriting, particularly for the short comedy though his guilty pleasure is for the absurd. (Russell's favorite play being A Fable by Jean Claude van Itallie.) Be prepared for more comedy and absurdity from this author. | |
