Sandy Sherman has developed her writing skills for children as a result of her graduate training and extensive teaching experience in the early childhood grades. Among Sandy's credits are numerous songs for Disney Records, including two songs on the gold record, Disney Babies Lullaby, a song in the popular More Silly Songs (which was on Billboard's Top Kid Audio charts for over 99 weeks), and songs in The Twelve Days Of Christmas, Playtime and Babies Day. Many of Sandy's songs have been licensed in such T.V. shows as Shari Lewis' Lamb Chop's Play Along, the Disney Channel's The Little Mermaid's Island, The Children's Television Workshops Square One and KCAL's Sing Me A Story with Belle. Sandy's Disney Christmas song, He Delivers has also been released by Hal Leonard as sheet music for two and three part voice. A video version of this song has been released by Buena Vista Videos in their Sing Along Songs - The Twelve Days of Christmas and has sold over 2 million copies.
As an educational consultant, Sandy has written many educational songs for Leap Frog toy and CD products. Her Leap Frog version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, released on their Learning Rhythms CD, has sold over 350,000 copies. She has also written songs for the well-known Learning Curves Mrs. Goodbee Interactive Dollhouse. Other releases include an educational song on Rhythm and Rhyme by award-winning children's artist Fran Avni and a song in the Piano Press print music collection My Mothers and Fathers Day Fun Book. Sandy is the lyricist and co-creator of The Little Witch of Wichita (published by Heuer Publishing) and this educational, entertaining show has been produced in numerous theaters (including the prestigious Geffen Playhouse, Los Angeles).
In addition to children's entertainment, Sandy has an extensive list of credits for songs featured in popular films and T.V. shows, including Police Academy Four, (soundtrack and film), Ghost Fever (theme song), Walker, Texas Ranger, All My Children, In The Line of Duty, Stormy Weathers, Tickets To A Dream, Daybreak, The Substitute, The X Files, Pacific Blue, All the Winters That Have Been, Night Sins, When Husbands Cheat, Nightmare in Big Sky Country, The Cape, The District, Passions, The Young and the Restless, Felicity, Six Feet Under, Sex and the City, The Faithful Traveler, Swing, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Las Vegas, Shania, Picking Up and Dropping Off, Nico the Unicorn, The Fourteenth Hour, Brothers and Sisters, Starting Over, Roswell (DVD release) and Big Shots.
