| | Steve Franco, co-creator of Going Up?, is an award winning Educator, Director, Designer, and Playwright who currently resides in Salem, Virginia. Mr. Franco was a founding member of the Roanoke County School for the Performing Arts and continues to teach some of Virginia's brightest and best student actors. He was a finalist for the RCPS Golden Apple Educational Award and was later selected as an award winner as the RCPS Outstanding High School Educator. While the majority of his work focuses on preparing others for the spotlight, Mr. Franco does appear onstage regularly in the one-man-show Live Tonight: Mark Twain! Mr. Franco has written 12 plays to date and has directed well over 100 productions in his 20 years as a Theatre professional. In addition, Mr. Franco has also served as Technical Director for countless plays, operas, ballets and concerts. He is deeply committed to producing works that are well written, insightful, and humorous while being tasteful enough that they are appropriate for audiences of all ages. Mr. Franco enjoys meeting the casts and crews of organizations that produce his work and especially enjoys attending productions whenever possible. He is also available as a guest speaker as well as for teaching sessions, group discussions, and design insight for Directors and Actors associated with his shows.
