Author's Notes:
Bob's Date was the first play I finished and the first to see production. Since then it's gone on to be my most-produced work. It's been performed by community theaters and, much to my surprise, high school drama clubs. One school group took it all the way to the finals of their high school drama competition.

One thing I've found about this play is that my early staging note that the stage should be bare apparently works as inspiration for directors to add staging as they see fit - and this is wonderful! I've seen this piece done on a bare stage. I've seen it with a conference table and chairs. I've seen it set in a locker room with the characters in matching team jerseys. It's great to see that I've created an adaptable play that lets each group re-define it in their own artistic terms.

Synopsis
Bob, who's not actually in the play, is going on his first date in two years. All of his manly inner attributes: Logic, Confidence, Nerves, Libido, and Bull are gearing up for the event. Then a love-at-first-sight moment wakes long-sleeping Emotion, and she threatens to throw the night into chaos. But if the men weren't ready to handle Emotion, then they're certainly not prepared to take on the Memory of the woman who broke Bob's heart.
