Author's Notes:
The reviews are in, and they are not good. In fact, they are downright killer. Someone is going to pay for all those cutting remarks that appeared throughout the years in various newspapers. In this outrageous comedy well-suited for dinner theaters, I thought it would be fun to build a mystery comedy around the idea that the pen is not always mightier than the sword. Sometimes those reviews cut a little too close. Lots of fun with hilarious lines and sight gags.If you have comments and pix of your production, please send them to
When six famous film and theatre critics gather at the Chateau Poupon to receive the prestigious Van Janz award for literary criticism, they quickly discover that the sword is mightier than the pen. After one of the critics suddenly dies, it appears everyone, including the proprietors of the chateau, is marked for murder. Police inspector Claude Renault is promptly sent for, but before the inept policeman can solve the crime, he too becomes one of the victims. So who is the killer, and where is he or she hiding? Deliciously witty with hilarious lines and visual gags.
