Wishing Moon is a tidy, little short play well deserving of its competition award. Cleverly crafted by the playwright to be part romance, part mystery, it subtly draws the viewer/reader into the innocent urgency of young love, loss and regret while at the same time imbuing the viewer's/reader's perception with a lingering sense of the mystical leading to a conclusion that is all at once surprising and heart wrenching and asking the eternal question of What would you do for love? Technically speaking, the playwright wisely chose to leave the time period indeterminate so that the viewer/reader can personalize it and color it with their own experiences for individual maximum impact. It could be anytime, anywhere...any...one. To say more would be to be a spoiler. Personally, I felt haunted for weeks afterward by the thought of what Wishing Moon had to say, so be prepared because it will stay with you long after the curtain comes down or you close the cover of the text.

Synopsis
On a clear spring night, an awkward teenage boy, Trent, tries to ask a teenage girl, Amy, an important question. Combining mythology with magical realism, this unique drama discusses the passing down of oral traditions and stories. And just what if some of these stories were true? Be careful what you wish for.
