By Parker Quail - Writer/Critic
Deadpan is a non-stop action thrill ride brimming with explosions and special effects that will leave you breathless, nay, spent, depleted, a broken person who will forever wander the waste-malls of America knowing they will never feel as good as the night they beheld the splendor of Deadpan. Well, maybe it won’t break down your soul, however it will make you laugh until you awkwardly bang the table a little too loud, topple the saltshaker, and draw the fleeting ire of your tablemates. I was unashamed. Kelleher and his crew had me wrapped around their collective finger.
It's 1936, and hit songwriter Stanley Cordell has come to the "Il Toscana" nightclub to propose to his fiancee but instead discovers she's been having an affair behind his back. When she promptly dies, Stanley (along with everyone else) gets implicated in a murder investigation that's sure to uncover some unsettling, unforeseen, and downright unusual truths about the club's patrons. With four songs of cabaret-style music and comedy, this show delivers murder, dinner club chaos and fantastic memories!
