| Script Preview Productions | | Synopsis | This satirical comedy attacks the conventions and expectations of many drama competitions and festivals. With allusions to Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, this play illuminates two inept and apathetic actors on stage trying to accomplish all of the elements of great drama while remaining on stage for the required 15 minute minimum that their theatre competition requires. Two actors, one seasoned professional and the other an inexperienced amateur, begin the play by performing some of the basic elements of an outstanding theatrical performance, such as conflict, love, pacing, space use, prop use, symbolism and metaphor. The amateur does all he can to keep up with the professional, but in the end, the Stage Manager enters and tells them that their 15 minutes are up. Neither actor leaves though, hoping to impress the adjudicators by their thespian stamina. For professional rights, please contact customer service. |
