Synopsis
Courtney Maxwell finds herself in a troubling place in life. Her brother and sister are always crazy busy, but Courtney stays at home, bored out of her mind. Elizabeth, Courtney's best friend, comes up with an idea to end all ideas. If Courtney was kidnapped, she could have her chocolate cake and eat it too. So they put their heads together, write a ransom note, stick it to the wall with an ice-pick, and hide Courtney. Exactly according to plans, the Maxwells are frantic and repeatedly claim that if Courtney returned home safely, they would be oh-so-lenient. In waltz Elmer and Muggsy, a couple of none-too-bright, would-be robbers, rummaging through the house, looking for the ransom money. They take Courtney, then Lucas, but no one believes anything that comes out of Elizabeth's mouth because she's famous for crying wolf, among other things.
