Art and Practice, Third Edition

This thoroughly revised and updated edition is for the advanced student of lighting design and technology. Emphasis is given to the designer's thought processes and the collaborative nature of theatrical design, especially the designer-director relationship. Other advanced topics covered include: optics, history of control systems, the nature of light, color theory, electricity, power distribution systems, automated luminaries, electronic dimmers, scenic projections, and lasers. Safety is stressed throughout.
