Guests arrive––two caterers who are frenemies, an ex-boyfriend, a spiritual advisor, a gastroenterologist, and a balloon artist––but Karen is nowhere to be found. A car drives up, the guests turn off the lights for the birthday surprise, the door opens and closes, a gunshot, the lights turn on––and there’s Karen… lying dead on the floor.
