Synopsis
The Maxwells have their hands full with their children Caroline and Lucas, but their youngest daughter Courtney has always been a ray of sunshine in a cloudy existence. Courtney has always done well in school and Aunt Mary even calls her "beloved."

Since nothing exciting ever happens to Courtney, she makes up escapades from her vivid imagination to fill her diary full of funny as well as nightmarish stories about her life. All very private until Mr. Maxwell peruses the diary and discovers that his daughter Caroline is about to elope with her boyfriend, Mark, and that Lucas and a friend have become gang members. Finally, it’s discovered that the stories are imagined, which is when the table turns and Mr. Maxwell takes the stories and runs with them.
