Synopsis
In 19th Century New England, Edgar and Ethel work as fortune tellers at a local circus providing people with fake fortunes in order to swindle people out of their money. Everything is going well until a mysterious woman comes into their tent claiming to be a real fortune teller. She tells them of three events that will come to pass: one of them shall find love and be loved in return while the other shall love in vain, one shall betray the secret of their father's act causing him to shun that one forever, and one shall die. Edgar and Ethel race to try to sabotage one another so that they may be the one who lives. But after conning people with fortune telling all these years, can they even trust the prophecy of this supposed fortune teller? Can they learn to love and rekindle the bond of family? Can they learn to change their swindling ways? And even if they did, could they survive long enough for any it to matter...
