Synopsis
The year is 1618, and the peasants of Germany aren't happy with their leadership. In fact, they're so unhappy that they've decided to riot in the streets and demand their politician's heads. The city administrator of Prague has realized that if he doesn't solve the economic and social problems facing the city then he and all his loved ones will be killed. So, when the Emperor of Germany's two top advisors pass through, it's his only hope to try and convince them to change the draconian laws of the monarchy and calm down the peasants. His assistant, the troubadour, and he attempt to convince Councillors William Slavata and Jaroslav Matriviny to change their minds. A offer which makes them enraged enough to literally throw themselves out the window. One of the Councillor's family enters to further debate the issue before the Emperor of Germany himself arrives to settle the dispute. This is all done in a farcical and comedic way despite the serious undertones.
