| | Script Preview Productions | | | Synopsis | | The laughs, frights, and fights are thick when billionaire Thaddeus Thornbury realizes the end of his life is near and invites all potential heirs to his secluded mansion on Chipmunk Island. These include his sisters, Isabelle and Rita, along with Rita's two children, Chase and Brooke; his shifty lawyer, Noah; his voluptuous secretary, Holly; his grumpy cook, Mrs. Chips, and her cookie-loving daughter, Coco; and two long-lost country cousins, Katie Sue and Coreen. When all have arrived, Thornbury reads his will: the last surviving member of the weekend party will inherit the entire Thornbury empire. Conveniently, two strangers shipwrecked on the island appear just in time to notarize the will and join the familial festivities. Following a toast, poor Thaddeus promptly dies from rat poisoning. Amidst thunder and lightning, one by one the potential heirs begin to die and as each victim meets his or her untimely end, a chipmunk from the fireplace mantel disappears. Those remaining suspect one another, chase one another, and amusingly dispose of one another until the family of ghosts return to haunt Thaddeus having faked their murders in a plot against the crusty old coot. But before they can enjoy the fruits of their murders, Thaddeus really does die and it appears they'll have to really start murdering one another. However, the murderous plots are foiled when the mysteriously shipwrecked Nick and Karen reveal they're IRS agents and present the legitimate heir with a hefty bill for back taxes. Once again, Craig Sodaro dishes up an irresistible, rapid-fire, double-crossing mystery-comedy. |
