Synopsis
The feud between the Capfields and the Scroggs has been a legend in the hills. Sad to say, Old Pappy Scroggs has finally died and he was the last of his family! Pa Capfield doesn't know what to do with himself if he can't go feudin'. Lulu Mae and Seke, his oldest children, try to console him, but even Zeke's attempt to build a “tellyvision” set doesn't take Pa's mind off his troubles. Pa might still be brooding, however, if Mrs. Malcomb Everett Gardner hadn't become interested in genealogy. She finds a “Samuel Scrogg” on her family tree and with son, Junior, and bratty little Dawn, takes off for the hills to see if she can find out anything about him. They stop at the Capfield cabin for information. Lulu Mae takes a “shine” to Junior and has almost decided to “marry up” with him when she learns about the Scrogg ancestor. Then it's her duty to shoot Junior. When he finds out that she's not kidding, he nervously talks her out of it but when Pa finds out there's more Scroggs in the family tree, he's not so easy to control.
